Erik Burrow is completely addicted to his Flip Video camera, which works in our favour as he’s always got another edit in the pipeline. Here’s his latest edit which features skating from Andrew Boyle, Erik Burrow, Aaron Wheat, Dan Lefebre, Taylor Ritchie, Marc Benic, Guy Crawford, Stephane Julien and AJ Delong. Cool stuff in this edit- Dan shredding coping like a pro, Stephane having the most energy of anyone I’ve ever met; Marc getting a sly clip (can’t wait to see more) and AJ rolling the Hoof in rec frames with 101mm wheels!

Aj Delong has recently set out on a personal tour of self-discovery. Before he left he Makio’d the long ledge in recreational metal frames to get in the zen frame of mind.

I love exploring more parts of Canada. I went to the west coast last week to visit my good friend Aj Delong. Luckily Will Pursell got the week off, and Leon from Shop-Task decided to take work on the road and join in on some of our adventures. We took a lot of trips to the insane amount of parks that B.C has to offer. Kamloops was amazing, and the skate barn (seen in the photos) is a photographer’s dream. Big thanks to Will for taking some of the awesome shots in this set, and Aj as well for helping out.

All in all I just wanted to share some of my great times with good friends. Browse through the pictures, and look out for a killer edit from our journey to Kamloops that will appear on the Shop-Task Blog soon.

I recently noticed the new Shop-Task site re-design, and it thought it looked 100 times better than what was up there before. Since I am into design myself, I can’t help but think about all the things that go through your mind when a large scale design project goes underway. I caught up with Leon and Aj at Shop-Task to see what their thoughts were.

Q : What were some of the challenges that you found yourself going through during the re-design process?

A: The biggest challenge was to design a new logo. We wanted the logo to be simple, and recognizable but we didn’t want to come up some fancy design that would change our image. Once we had that, the rest of the re-design process was pretty easy. We already knew what we wanted the site to look like.

Q: What did you want to achieve by the new design?

A: We wanted our website to look cleaner, more professional, and easier for our customers. We think with the new design we are able to display our products better.

Q: Blog-Task is extremely popular here in Canada, and it’s important for Shop-Task as well. What were your thoughts when you set that up?

A: Shop Task is a skater owned and operated company and one of our main focuses will always be to promote rollerblading and to help our industry grow. We think that the blog is extremely important to showcase Canadian talent and share it with the rest of the world.

Q: How important is it us, as rollerbladers, to have an online representation of our community?

A: We think it’s extremely important and that’s why we invest so much time, money, and effort into our media. We believe that one central Canadian website with selective content is the key for a proper and professional representation of our community. The outside world doesn’t know enough about our sport and our potential. At the moment the internet is the best tool to show them what we’ve got.

Thanks for the interview Shop-Task.

- Dave

I had the pleasure of visiting San Francisco this past week, and damn did I have a good time. Other than being a beautiful city, it is home to some legendary rollerblading street spots. I also got to catch up with AJ Delong, as he took the train down from Vancouver. We skated St.Mary’s Square, and 3rd and Army, which is more commonly known as the piers many of you have seen in skate videos. We met up with Kevin Yee, Jake Weins, and other awesome bladers at the piers and they showed us a great time. Although we didn’t film too much I managed to catch a bunch of clips on my iPhone. Check it out, I hope you like it.
