_MNS and WNS! Double Picfest Whammy!

This week has flown past in a blur! Monday night a few of us gathered at the curved ledge by the ferryport for a bit of a skate at the freshly bricked and waxed ledge in a kiddies playground. Some burly hammers went down, with Dan grinding around the tight curved corner.

Taylor started everyone on skating the ledge the other way by jumping over the corner, sticking this awesome misfit:

_San Fran iPhone Edit

I had the pleasure of visiting San Francisco this past week, and damn did I have a good time. Other than being a beautiful city, it is home to some legendary rollerblading street spots. I also got to catch up with AJ Delong, as he took the train down from Vancouver. We skated St.Mary’s Square, and 3rd and Army, which is more commonly known as the piers many of you have seen in skate videos. We met up with Kevin Yee, Jake Weins, and other awesome bladers at the piers and they showed us a great time. Although we didn’t film too much I managed to catch a bunch of clips on my iPhone. _Varsity Ledge TNS, 16/07

With no lift in place to whisk us away to the Icy playground, Taylor and I found ourselves at a bit of a loose end. Ghent is away, so who are we meant to turn to for direction? After consulting Ghent’s bible, we realised that we really just wanted to hit a ledge and the Varsity seemed as good as any. First there are a couple of shots of Erik and Blair at the Bathurst and Dundas park, then the rest of the shots are from the evening’s skate.

Blair gets first photo with an awesome top mistrial, even more incredible that he managed it with a skateboarder wedged firmly up his backside.

_Ben and Dre visit Toronto

In May two of my best friends visited Toronto for two weeks to catch up, hang out and generally save on time talking on msn. Ben Sach is a very talented video editor and Dre is one of the nicest, weirdest, funniest gents in the world. They got searched at arrivals in both directions, ate enormous quantities of Lucky Charms, drank Mountain Dew and root beer by the gallon and skated far more in a fortnight than they previously had in a year. Dre has made all kinds of advances in the streamlining of global mining software. And has a wicked haircut.
