_Thank you everyone for coming to watch Valo4Life

The Valo video is a power house feature and a must have for any one who appreciates what skating is today. The tricks are fresh and the time and craft that went into making this video is extremely high level stuff. Aside from the bonus footage the main running time is about an hour so there is plenty to take in.

Thank you Lylac Skate shop in Montreal for hooking it up with the original shipment that was lost in the mail and thank you Jon for the speedy backup copy.

Just before the original premiere date I went on a road trip with Aaron Wheat to our neighbor city Montreal to skate and meet Guillaume Roy of Shop Lylac to grab a copy of the video. Even though we didnt get it at that time, the trip was awesome and like always I cant wait to go back. This is the “In search of valo4life” edit. Session features Dan Lefebre, Aaron Wheat, Sylvain Chaussee, Maxence Valade and Nicky Adams.Enjoy!

_How to Brick a Ledge

I have been meaning to make one for a while, and the opportunity finally smacked me in the face. If you’re interested in checking out the ledge, you can find it on our Blading Street Spots tab under Davisville Ledges.

_Deshi Carbon Customization

I love the deshi carbons. I’ve become so used to them that they’ve actually begun to feel heavy when I carry them around, as absurd as that sounds. Lately I’ve been disappointed in the souls, and I feel that I’ve lost confidence in a couple of tricks that I’d otherwise consider to be pretty safe; the groove seems too close to the boot for torqueslides and the soul itself can be sticky at really unpredictable times.

I started looking for a solution almost as soon as I got the skate, but without USD two pieces options are limited as not many other manufacturers use a completely flat soulkit.

Back when I skated TRS I used to use soulkits from the k2 Nemesis skates with a custom-made heel riser to hold the TRS boot solidly. Nothing skated so well; grinds were fast and effortless. With the Carbon needing no heel lift, maybe this would be the fix I needed?

Deshi Carbons with K2 Souls.

Thank you so much Cody for the hookup, honest to god I won the Sunshine Skate Battle because of these. I got my torqueslides back, feel more stable on back royales and soulbased tricks are super fast again!

The reason they work so well is that the backslide area is further away from the skate like a salomon widebody, so you don’t have to bone over so much to grind. In my opinion, these are the perfect souls for these skates, now they just need some dremel action to make them a bit less fugly! Next task is to reduce the weight of Fiziks…
