Its not often I meet a series of transitions big enough or scary enough to genuinely frighten me, but I think last night I did. I’ve been asked to skate at the Toronto Ski and Snowboard Show for the next four evenings on a series of ramps that honestly scare the bejeesus out of me. Wandering around with shoes on looking at the ramps, Dave Ellis and I freaked out about the horrific transitions, brutally steep quarterpipes and the 4ft wide, 12 ft high runway to the ‘ski’ jump. I grabbed a couple of pictures on my cellphone from our rehearsal last night.
I mean, look at that, just look at it… what kind of madness is that? I’m due to somehow skate it for the next four days, so I’ll have plenty of opportunity to become blasé about what I consider the daftest, most dangerous set of ramps I’ve ever seen. Come by and say hi : )

Bahahaha. I can’t wait to see you flatspin over 3 trapeze gymnists.
That’s DOPE….
..haha you’re the man, Guy, shred that shitttt!
crazyness… I’ll be there to grab a deck this year.
I’m looking forward to seeing you throw down!
I hope you film some of this!
I better see an edit or at least some clips or i will be disappointed, flat spin from the top ramp right? haha
You got that. Hotflip the step down. You won’t!
Whoa, trampoline flat tops? The last time I was at the ski show Atlas from Catwalk was dancing in ski boots… not that anyone reading this will be old enough to know who that guy is…
stop crying. looks fun.
I was planning on going to the show. How often do you skate?
So I skated it tonight, it was a LOT of fun and I’m starting to get comfortable with it- although Dave Ellis is kicking the shit out of it. Showtimes are:
Friday 3, 6, 8pm
Saturday 12, 3, 5, 7pm
Sunday 12.30, 2, 4pm
Dave got some video tonight, so we’ll cobble something together : )
can you get enough speed to hit that giant kicker?? and whats the deal with the ramp/trampoline set up?
that looks so bananerzzzzz!
have fun!
