This week has flown past in a blur! Monday night a few of us gathered at the curved ledge by the ferryport for a bit of a skate at the freshly bricked and waxed ledge in a kiddies playground. Some burly hammers went down, with Dan grinding around the tight curved corner.

Taylor started everyone on skating the ledge the other way by jumping over the corner, sticking this awesome misfit:

Closely followed by Kevin with a disaster to power soul, back on USDs.

Jay hopped on the bandwagon with his usual quiet, modest brilliance, landing trick after trick across the corner without any pause for breath.

Moving on now to Wednesday night. As with most of our downtown sessions, someone will have a burning urge to skate and will harrass the other protagonists into compliance… Word of a street skate spreads like wildfire through our scene, consuming pockets of skaters as it travels digitally by text, instant message and board post.
With Dave back from SF and eager to hang out, we hastily threw together a mini session with Seb, TJ, Ed and Jong. The ever-friendly Steve Kiley, Ottawa native Josh Boyd and everyone’s favourite blädr Collin Bradley White joined us at the Varsity ledge downtown, but I feel that we’ve overdosed on photos of that ledge of late, so I held off on taking photos of it. TJ was stomping some awesome 540s from the upper deck to the sidewalk, Jong was grinding the edge of the top step, Seb held a sweet ao Top Acid… it was refreshing to have the younger gents in on our skate for a change; We get so used to our own unique trick vocabularies and skate spot preferences that the change opened our eyes. Soon, we’d moved over the road to a short rail over a double set and the session began again in earnest.
Wheat begins with a mistrial to show the younger gents what indeed was up.

Sexy Seb stepped up with a shirtless topacid, putting his hours of portarail practise to good use.

Collin hit a perfect Soul first try.

TJ busted out a huge safety 360 over the double set, unfortunately pulling quite a funny face-

Then Jong came out of nowhere and gave me my favourite shot of the night with this amazing Acid Soul!

That’s all for now- Thanks again for coming down, lads!
