For my recent 30th birthday my wonderful wife bought me a Nikon D40 digital SLR. I’ve been waiting for a saturday morning Hoof session since I got it, as Aaron Wheat’s photos showed it to be a very photogenic park indeed- and I was excited to try my hand at skate photography while I’m injured.

The session began as it normally does in the small bowl, warming up with grinds. Here’s a photo of Dave Ghent getting very excited, having learnt front torqueslides. Real men grab it.

Riley from Brantford travelled up for the session and landed this sweet mizou.

Kevin Chow landing the most perfect truespin top pornstar I’ve ever seen in a miniramp first go! I hate it when he does that, especially because it happens all the time.

Stephane taking it deep into the corner with a training foot fishbrain.

Some portrait posing led to a quick session on the grindbox under the trees at the back of the park.

Kevin started hitting the deep bowled corner with fast topsouls but I kept getting his hands across his face, so he switched it to a topacid and we got it first try.

Stephane had a go at it too, and nailed a very respectable alleyoop fishbrain.
